Combi Flare

Graco IPO

The IPO Stroller is a compact toddler stroller with European styling. It allows one-hand folding and has a carry handle. The recommended child weight is 50lbs (22.6kg). The stroller comes with a reclining seat, a canopy with peek-a-boo window and storage basket. The child is secure with a combination 3-point or 5-point harness.

Combi Flare

A lightweight portable stroller with a compact tri-fold design. It weighs only 11.6 pounds, but will hold up to 55 pounds. Designed for taller parents, reclining seat, and many more features.

Accessories

The Graco IPO is equipped with a small basket underneath the seat for storing small items. The basket is generally considered at a good size, with only a few users complaining that it is too small. The stroller has a canopy (sunshade) with a peek-a-boo window but is not equipped with cup holders.
The basket underneath the Combi Flare is small but comfortable enough for small items. The cup holder is small but very functional, and the zipped compartment is quite roomy. The sun shade is great, sturdy and locks well in place. The front bar is removable and that is very helpful. You may purchase extra stuff holder for the stroller. It does not tip the stroller over. The cup holder for the child is very good. There are many accessories available from different manufacturers.

Adult Comfort

The Graco IPO is light and easy to manoeuver, with good one-hand folding action and small space requirements when folded. It is usually more comfortable for adults over 5'7 (170cm), and shorter users commented that it may not be easy to smaller persons to push the stroller or load it into a car. The stroller is generally perceived as sturdy and comfortable, and easy to handle. It is also not likely to tip when hanging bags on its handles.
The Combi Flare steers nice and smoothly and the back wheels are easy to lock. The carrying strap is a nice, helpful feature. The front wheels do not rotate as easily as other strollers. The stroller is usually good for people between 5'8 (172.7m) and 6'1 (185.4m) as the handles are tall and they don't kick the wheels when pushing it. The stroller is stable and able to hold the weight of a heavy bag on the back even when no child is sitting inside. The wheels work usually well on gravel paths, city sidewalks, and grass. Almost all users had no difficulties pushing the stroller outside.

Child age and weight

Graco recommends the IPO stroller for children up to 50lb (18kg). In some cases children up to five years of age may sit in the stroller comfortably, with the stroller not losing control or maneuverability. This stroller is usually comfortable for big or tall children.
The Combi Flare manufacturer promises that it will hold up to 55 lbs (25kg).

Low Cost

The Graco IPO is usually not expensive.
The Combi Flare is usually not expensive.

Easy Folding and Carrying

The Graco IPO is lightweight and easy to fold or open up. It also folds to a very small size and doesn't take up much space in the car when folded. The stroller offers true one
The Combi Flare is light and easily portable, as it has a helpful, convenient carrying strap. It folds up small and is very easy to load or unload from cars and buses, but does not fold very well if the basket contains items.

Security and Comfort

The Graco IPO's seat reclines up to 60 degrees which is considered very comfortable for children. Most children have no trouble falling asleep in the stroller - which is good. The stroller's harness can be used as 3 or 5-point. This allows for more security when used with babies, or more comfort for older children. The Graco is usually considered safe and comfortable for relatively bigger children and the seat's back support is considered good. In rare cases the seat may drop to a 45 degrees position by a toddler's motion. This isn't good but is not very likely to happen. The seat sides are not padded for comfort and this can pose a problem for some children, especially when sleeping.
The Combi Flare is narrow and may not be a good fit for larger children. However, is stable and will not tip over with a heavy bag on the handles and no baby inside. Children find the cup holder very comfortable. For most children the stroller's seat reclines enough for to nap comfortably. Sometimes the stroller jolts the children when encountering a bump in the road. Also in one case a mother complained that her baby's fingers were pinched under the front bar because of the way the frame is constructed (this can probably happen in many strollers). The sunshade is very good for the children.

Lightweight

The Graco IPO weighs 17.53lb (7.95kg). Some users believe this to be too heavy, especially when required to hold a child in one hand and the stroller in the other.
The Combi Flare weighs 11.7 pounds (5.3kg). Most people will find it very lightweight and have no problem carrying it with their children inside.

LOVED this stroller!

(Score 5/5)

I typed "loved" because my 13 month old 26 pound 31 inch son has just outgrown it. I cannot see a 50 pound child fitting in this, even though it will supposedly hold one. Other than that, we love love loved it for over a year. Used it pretty much every single day, heavily. In the past month or so, it's gotten a little creaky and the treads on the tires are completely worn down. My only complaints are that the sun shade is a bit skimpy, the storage basket is a bit hard to get to, and the handles are not adjustable. That being said, my son has always loved this stroller so it must be pretty comfy. It is very lightweight and easy to maneuver. Easy to fold and unfold one-handed. Parent organizer pockets are handy, a good size for mail. The handles, fortunately, are a good height for me (I'm 5'6") and for my husband (5'11"), which we "test drove" several strollers for when I was pregnant. The handles are comfy too. It's fairly easy to maneuver through tight spaces.

Love this Stroller!

(Score 5/5)

I have to say, I really love this stroller. I bought mine 3 years ago. The stroller has seen a lot of duty and been used for 2 kids. My 4 year old still rides in it from time to time. She is 42 inches tall and still fits. I love the one handed fold and the handle for carrying. When my son rides in it, my daughter holds the handle on the side which is great because I always know where she is! The stroller is ideal for airport trips and travels. It is light weight and easy to transport. I am buying a second one because sadly on my last trip the airline broke it.

Awesome stroller!

(Score 4/5)

Purchased this stroller for my 2 1/2 yr old who is 39" tall and is 37 lbs. This is a beautiful stroller. Easy to put together (actually my 16 yr old put it together for me). However, the stroller does not accommodate a taller toddler. Her head was about 5" above the back rest and she looked "stuffed" into the stroller. Like I said I love the stroller itself. It is sturdy, has a nice size basket underneath, and handles are perfect height. I just wish it were a little wider and taller! I would even toss the canopy aside and add more inches to the back rest! Hope Graco is listening!

Great stroller

(Score 5/5)

We bought this stroller instead of an umbrella stroller as we're both tall. It's been great. We've taken it all over the world - it folds up very small and is very handy. Our 2.5 year old still fits in it fine. We've had no trouble with the quality. The only thing missing is a parent console for drinks.

Fixable issues...it really is a great strolle

(Score 4/5)

I was almost one of the people to write a negative review regarding the sitting position. I went so far as to call Graco customer service to send back the stroller. The woman asked me if something in the back was looped through so that the seat worked properly. I told her I think so, that I used the stroller straight from the box. Well, my husband finally looked at it and realized that it wasn't, and fixed it. I didn't watch him do it, but it completely solved the problem of the wimpy upright position! Yay. We were also having an issue with the adjustable leg rest, and my husband found that something wasn't threaded on that properly. And, people complain of the umbrella on it, too, which needed to be adjusted, too. Now, why the stroller wasn't properly threaded in the first place is beyond me. I wish I could give a detailed explanation of what he did to fix it, but I can't...my son is trying to sabotage the computer. It is a great great great stroller now!

Easy to get around the city with this strolle

(Score 4/5)

I searched and searched for a lighter weight stroller for us to use when traveling by car and on the subway. I also needed a stroller with brakes placed in such a way the stroller can be bumped up and down a few steps with the baby in it so we can leave our NYC house without having to first take the stroller outside then the toddler. Most strollers have huge brakes that catch on stairs. The Combi Flare brakes will catch on stairs with a large lip on them like unfortunately the subway stairs, but otherwise work great on our own front stairs which has already made my days 10 times easier. I can fold it small and carry it easily for the subway so I've dealt with that okay. It also surprisingly does just fine on very bumpy, historic bluestone sidewalks and pushing over the grass in the park, all of which I worried about when buying a lightweight umbrella stroller. It is narrow in width but that's a matter of perspective and priority; I am thrilled with its narrow width because it's much more maneuverable through doors and store aisles or into restaurants. And of course doesn't take up so much room in the foyer. My son is 18 months old, average percentile in weight like around 60th percentile, and tall, 99th percentile in length and he fits this stroller great. He's not snug in the seat, there's a bit of room still on the sides. He's very comfortable. He'd let me know if he wasn't. My husband and I are both tall and the height of the handlebars is higher than Maclarens or most strollers so we're very comfortable pushing it. This stroller is also less tippy than the Maclaren. I can hang a fair amount of weight on the handles and it won't tip backwards even when the our son isn't sitting in it. The basket is small and just a nylon fabric but I find I can still fit a carton of milk and a few groceries in it. The sun canopy is typically tiny and there is no window in it. It wouldn't keep me from recommending this stroller but if Combi made the wheels bigger so it could take the subway stairs better and if the visor were bigger and with a window it would be the perfect city stroller.

Not that great!

(Score 2/5)

We purchased this stroller, because we needed something smaller than our Chicco Cortina KeyFit 30. I spent literally about a week searching, reading reviews, etc. Finally, we have decided that Combi Flare is the best choice. It arrived within two days, was not very difficult to put together, felt a little cheap but our son loved it from first sight. The next day after we got the stroller, he spent an entire day sitting in it, he liked it so much. We liked it, too, but that did not last long.
First off, if you're gonna use your stroller mostly in the mall or around the block - it's great. It's lightweight, it's easy to fold it, although you need both hands to do it, it doesn't take up too much space. On smooth surfaces it maneuvers easily and rides well. But if you want to take your baby for real walks in the park, let me tell you, it's going to be a nightmare. In the States, we didn't get to use the stroller very much outdoors. However, now that we're in Europe we take walks all the time, and with this stroller, it's a disaster. The stroller stops on the smallest rocks, making it impossible to move until you actually lift the front of the stroller and push it. Making a turn with a baby in the stroller makes you work your biceps more than dumbbell lifting (and my son is only about 20lbs).
The sun canopy could not exist in this stroller, because it's just that useless. It doesn't protect from the sun at all, and when it's unfolded ,you don't see your child, so I usually fold it anyway.
One review said that a single handle makes it possible to push the stroller with one hand only. Oh dear, I wish it were true, but that's totally impossible.
Although very pretty, it's totally not practical and I wouldn't buy it again. I wouldn't even take it for free!

Worth the money

(Score 4/5)

Experienced moms have told me time and again that they use their umbrella stroller the most because it's handy. So, I started looking and just didn't think the $20 cheapies were a good fit for me. So, I decide to investigate these strollers that cost a little more but offer a lot more. After some research both online and in the stores, I just got this one but in a different color. Already I notice that the mesh bag underneath is larger than any other umbrella strollers I tried at the store. Our medium sized diaper bag will fit if we put it in before the baby is set in the seat. I love how lightweight it is and how it folds up. The handle is high so if you are tall it would accomodate you. It stears more easily than my snap-and-go did. My 5 month old had his first ride in it and enjoyed it. I know we will get a lot of use out of it. If you do a google search you can watch a video on its features, especially how it folds up compactly. I'm happy with it.

Easy, Lightweight, Perfect for Travel

(Score 5/5)

This stroller truly is light weight and compact. I was skeptical about how easy it would be to fold it up, but I shouldn't have been worried. Although I can fold it up while holding my 1 year old, it isn't that easy - it is, however, very easy to fold it with two hands. It is easy to push and maneuver, and super easy to get my squirmy son strapped in - only two things to snap into the harness, and the connection is large and simple so there is no fumbling around. The canopy stretches out a little farther than other strollers I've had. The "basket" on the bottom isn't very easy to slip items into; it is more of a large mesh bag - but it does hold things securely. When I fold it up nothing falls out. And there is a smaller mesh bag close to the handlebar which is the perfect size for your keys and phone. The handlebar is high enough for me to use easily, and I am 5'8".

The only thing I wish this stroller had is a snack tray. Also, an adult cup holder would be nice. It comes with a removable child's cup holder that hangs off the side of the stroller at the child's level which is pretty useless for children under the age of 2, since the child has to hold their cup out of the stroller and get it in just right or their cup lands on the ground. Impossible for my 1 year old, but ok for my 3 year old. BUT, the stroller seems a little small for my 3 year old, so I really only use it for the little one.

Overall, I really do like this stroller. and it beats my umbrella stroller made by Maclaren.
