Fisher Price Rainforest This parent-friendly high chair will keep your baby entertained while you're making dinner or cleaning up. The Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair includes a toy that snaps on the base tray, with rainforest animals, music, lights & sounds that provide various ways for the baby to play with them, stimulate the baby's senses and encourages developing of their motor skills. There is also a teething toy tethered to the tray. The chair's parent-friendly features such as one-handed tray removal, seven chair height adjustments and three recline positions, a dishwasher-safe insert tray, a wipeable vinyl seat cover and dishwasher-safe restraint straps. This model is designed for use up to 50 lbs (23 kg). |
Safety 1st Vineland Safety 1st's Vineland solid wood high chair is designed to fit in dining rooms of all styles. It has a classic, wooden look with pleasantly polished cherry finish and a machine-washable, removable seat pad to match. The food tray is plastic, which makes sense as it is a lot easier to clean than wood. It is adjustable and has four positions and a one-hand release mechanism with a special safety feature to prevent your baby from kicking it off. When the tray is removed, the chair remains with a fixed snack tray for desserts. The chair has a three point harness system, and is quite stable on its sturdy wooden legs without being too bulky. All in all, this is a pretty good high chair for babies who can sit on their own. |

Ease of Storage: How easy will it be to store this high chair when not in use, and where can you stash it? |
Although easy to fold, this high chair does not fold completely flat, and the legs do not lock into place. There is a storage option on the back of the highchair for the tray & the clip-on toy, but according to reviews this isn't very practical because the toy sticks out. |
The Vineland doesn't fold neatly away like some of the other baby high chairs. Rather, you'll find it is quite sturdy, but not as big as you'd expect it to be. In fact, the Vineland is comfortable enough to store without folding, as it doesn't take up a lot of space. Its modest size is a good fit even in a small apartment kitchen. |

Ease of Clean: After every good meal comes the cleaning-up. With mashed food, spilled drinks and grubby hands everywhere within your child's reach and beyond, cleaning can be a dreadful chore, or a piece-of-cake. How easy will it be to get this high chair clean of the post-meal mess? |
With dishwasher-safe insert tray, Health Care? chair vinyl pad and removable, washable straps, the Fisher-Price Rainforest is an overall easy to clean high chair. The removable vinyl seat cover can be wiped off very easily, and some people have even tossed it in the washing machine. Some reviewers mentioned that since the piping and frills on the seat are fabric they cannot be wiped off as well as the vinyl seat, and need to be washed. Tomato sauce leaves stains on the vinyl, and some parents had problems with food and liquids getting into the seams and creases of the seat and under the seat cushion, and then cannot be washed. The tray insert is dishwasher safe, but sometimes food gets all over the rest of the tray, which cannot go in the dishwasher and has to be wiped clean. The straps are easy to release and are dishwasher-safe. The toy is also dishwasher-safe, although some parents mentioned that it doesn't fit in a standard dishwasher and has to be washed by hand. |
The vineland is not an easy to clean high chair.
The seat cushion is cloth, so not so easy to wipe down like the vinyl ones. This means that more
washings are required for cleaning, especially if your child is a messy eater. The removable tray is dishwasher safe, so in theory, you can wash it with your other dishes, saving time. In practice, the way the chair's trays snap on to the chair and on top of each other, makes it harder to clean than you would expect. |

Ease of Use: As parents, we don't only wish to make mealtime an enjoyable experience for our children, but also to minimize the hassle and mealtime madness. An easy-to-use high chair can help us achieve that. |
This is overall a very easy to use chair. The various height levels mean that you can bring the baby to table height when having a family dinner, lower her down to near-floor level when watching TV or having a snack, and other height levels in between to suit your needs. The back recline can support infants who still cannot sit very well on their own, especially with the extra newborn pillow provided with the chair. The seat recline is also used by parents to put child in a more relaxed position for drinking their bottle or having a nap. Reviews from parents say that the back recline and height adjustments systems are easy, intuitive and work well. There have been some negative reviews from parents on the Fisher-Price Rainforest's performance. Many reviewers have reported on having had problems with the wheels (castors) brakes system, which makes them lock down randomly with even the slightest touch - something that can be rather annoying when you move the chair around. Some people also mentioned that the tray was a bit loose and it was too easy for toddlers to unlatch the tray themselves, and knock it to the floor. The cup holder sections on the tray are too far away and may be hard to reach for younger or smaller babies. Another point mentioned by reviewers is that the footrest is not adjustable, and therefore not very useful. |
The Vineland is usually easy and reliable. It is very sturdy and does not topple over easily like some other high chairs. However, it is not adjustable for up or down reclining, and the back of the chair is at amost a 90 degrees angle. This makes the Vineland not very suitable for young children who can not sit on their own. The food tray has four adjustments and a guard that will not allow a child to put his feet into the tray's adjustment handle. This ensures that your baby will not accidently remove the tray while eating. The food tray fits well on the chair, and can be adjusted so it is closer or further away from the baby. It is usually quite easy to pull out for cleaning, but doing it single-handedly - while holding your baby - may prove a little difficult. The three-point harness is confusing for some parents, and may seem low quality. These seem to be isolated incidents and not a recurring issue with the chair. The seat pad is a little on the thin side, and some parents commented that it could be a little thicker. However, you need to remember that this is a chair for baby, and the thin cushion is probably enough. The seat is attached with velcros, and is easily removable for cleaning. The Vineland's base is not much broader than its top, meaning that there is ample leg room around it for when you need to put your baby in or take her out of the chair. You don't have to stoop to do it like with some of the other high chairs. |
|
Ease of Set-up: How easy will it be for you to assemble the high chair you just bought? |
There are mixed reviews regarding the ease of assembly of this product. |
The Vineland requires a little assembly after you buy it, and it is sold with clear instructions
and all the tools you need. While this is a very sturdy high chair, it is still a breeze to set up. You will usually need 5 to 10 minutes to assemble the chair, and most buyers report that they had no problem whatsoever with it. The only problem you may encounter with the Vineland's set up is a slight wobble to the chair after assembly is complete. Watch out for this as you put it together and you'll be fine. |

Entertainment for Baby: How do you keep your child busy, happy and most of all - out of your way, when you are fixing their meals or cleaning their post-meal mess? Some high chairs offer an integrated solution. |
This high chair will keep your baby entertained while you make dinner, clean or just get stuff done around the house. |
The Vineland does not have any toys or something similar to entertain your baby when sitting with no food. |
|
Style: Today's high chairs come in many designs, patterns and colors. Some have cheerful, vibrant colors and cute prints, others have a chic, modern design that can blend with your dining room d?cor. |
The Fisher-Price Rainforest has vibrant colors and a very cute animals and rainforest print. |
The Vineland looks very attractive with its elegant, rich, dark wood finish,
The wood and the seat pad both look quite good and are of natural, neutral colors.
The colors make the chair blend nicely in almost any dining room, regardless of the
wall or dining table colors. Unlike many other high chairs, that always look 'baby-ish',
the Vineland becomes almost like a real piece of furniture. When you first lay your eyes on the Vineland it looks a little too bulky. This feeling goes away once you get used to the high chair. When you start using it, you'll find that when it's pulled up towards the table, it is like any other chair - only more sturdy. The Vineland is not perfect in terms of style. Like many types of wooden furniture, the high chair's wood is soft and may scratch easily. Additionally, some buyers complained that the chair's colors are not exactly as asvertised. The seat pad and removable tray are neutral cream color, unlike in some of the photos. |
