Kitchenaid Artisan
(score 5/5)
Having used Kitchenaid products in the past, when the plastic stand on my lightweight Kitchenaid broke,it was too old to find a replacement, so I took a chance on the new 325 watt Artisan with the 5 quart bowl.
Because I bake MANY cookies for a ministry to the Kentucky Speedway Race Track fans, I make double batches when I can. It really pulls this mixer down when the dough gets stiff and the bowl is not quite big enough to handle some of these recipes. However, with all that said, I really do like the mixer. It is HEAVY so one does not have to worry it wandering around on the counter when doing a stiff dough. I like the way the beaters work. Looking forward to making something frothy with it.
A larger mixer would have been overkill for my household. My counter tops and backsplashes are white so I bought the white mixer. My husband said I should have bought the red one to bring attention to it. That's ok.

Great Gift for My GF
(score 4/5)
Purchased this as a gift for my girlfriend and she loves it. The varying speeds work perfect for about any recipe. There are tons of attachments and ad-on's for this unit, and the price was great. If you look hard enough on amazon you'll find this model for about $70 cheaper than in the store. This allowed me to purchase a second mixing bowl made of glass with the money I saved. All in all a great purchase, and KicthenAid stuff always holds its value.

Wonderfull mixer!
(score 4/5)
I am having so much fun with my new KitchenAid mixer! I haven't had a good working mixer for years and I am really enjoying having one again. It does a good job with all the tasks I've given it so far. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that this baby is HEAVY! I don't have space to leave it on my kitchen counter, so moving it out of the cupboard onto the counter can be a job.

I would never wish KitchenAid customer service on even my worst enemy..
(score 2/5)
I received this mixer as a gift less than 2 weeks ago. It ran okay the first time I used it but that was short lived. While making a very light frosting the beater started to skip and hesitate. I noticed sparks coming from the inside of it as well as the smell of something electrical burning. After turning it off I called customer service and explained all of this to them in detail. They did not sound the least bit surprised by it. The woman on the phone had me convinced that I was crazy and told me "it's like a new pair of shoes, you just need to break it in. The machine isn't used to being ran". She told me to just let it run a while longer, I told her I was worried about doing that because of the sparking and the smell. Again, she made me feel crazy and told me all of their mixers do this. I for some reason believed her and went home to let it run with the results being the same. I call them back the following day and they asked if I could hold my phone up to the mixer so they could listen. Are you kidding me? I couldn't help but laugh at the request. My word wasn't good enough, you want to attempt to identify the problem by listening to it? I humored her and did so. Moments after hearing it she tells me that isn't a normal sound. Really? Thank you for assuring me that I am not crazy. I called because I knew it wasn't normal. I asked if she could identify the problem based on the sound and was told she couldn't. I can't help but think that's a lie because of the 3 times I called none of the reps sounded at all surprised by my problem. My new mixer is on its way but I can't say I am as excited for it. I only used this first one a couple times and already had problems, clearly the design is cheap and I fear it may happen again.
