sweet bargain

This is an amazing bargain at $109. Very good build quality, excellent sound.

Yeah the cord does seem a little questionable. I don't know if mine will start causing trouble like it did for some people, but for now there's no problem. Well, it's pretty stiff and rustles around a bit when moving so the noise gets transmitted to the ear, but overall it's no worse than my previous in-ear phones.

But the real quality is where it matters: the audio. I'm still tinkering with it for the right fit; the angle of insertion and final hold is important (my third experience with this kind of in-ear phones). But once I "got" it, amazing results! Detailed, bright, open. Covers quite a wide range of the spectrum. Tight bass, goes pretty deep, but not booming. Detail is everywhere but not fatiguing. So far pretty comfortable on the ear. Isolation seems pretty satisfactory, but I've not yet tried it on an airplane.

Don't buy this. I want it to stay in stock and drop a few more bucks before I buy another as a spare :-)

Bang! Pow!

The earphones sounded great as long as they lasted, which was oh, about 24 hours or so of in-ear time over about 3 1/2 weeks. Then, the left ear housing pod simply separated. Adorama Camera, the Amazon Merchant I bought these from only allows returns for 14 days, so I'm stuck deciding whether to give Klipsch warranty a go, or trusting my luck to some superglue--and then perhaps charging my troubles to the wind.

If I'd paid full retail for this poorly made POS, I'd be really PO'd.

Best I've Ever Had

I'll keep it short and sweet. I have had these earphones for about one month. So far they are excellent. Sound quality is near perfect. Sound isolation is good but not enough to be dangerous. I can't hear people talking or yelling but will hear a horn honking (I use these while biking in the city). Design is stylish as well. Haven't had any problems with the cable yet - seems to be high quality to me.
These were the first earphones I splurged on. My last headphone were the iPod defaults and Skullbudz earphones. The iPod defaults suck. Everyone knows this. The Skullbudz were tolerable - for $30. Of course, the Klipsch Custom-3 absolutely blew these out of the water. I had no idea sound could be reproduced with such quality in a pair of earphones. They are expensive but you get what you pay for. I am constantly finding excuses to take my iPod everywhere so I can have a mobile orgasm in my ears. Yeah, they're that good.

Great Sound, Wires are crud.

I've been on the fence writing this review for a while. Yes, the wires leave much to be desired. As far as fit and comfort, many of the people that buy these will find the included gels useless. Work for the fit. Once properly fitted, the sound rivals any iem. Be cautious with the wires. Since the price has come down, I decided I had to throw my opinion on the sound out. If not fitted properly, they can have too much or too little bass, among other things. But seeing the current pricing, you can not do better. They are very balanced, and sound much better than the Image X10, which has it's own wire problems.
The comfort on these can be as good as the X10, if not better. Long time owner, no wire problems. If you are careful with the kinks, they won't be a problem. Now matter how you slice it, based on sound and comfort, these are bang for buck awesome. They also do movies really well. They would rate 5 stars if the wires weren't so problematic.

Thought I'd love it

I am so utterly disappointed in this headset. Klipsch is known for quality sound products and I cannot reiterate how much I am totally disappointed with this purchase. This is a gadget I certainly do not love! The packaging is classy and everything fits in this beautifully sleek pouch. The sound quality of the headset is atrocious and I can't even use it since I get an instant headache whenever I connect the headset to my ipod.
I will continue to use my BOSE in-ear headset and/or the ipod headset instead!
Such a disappointment
