Excellent running shoe...

Different people have different running shoe requirements so I can't say these are for everyone. They're perfect for me. This is my 3rd pair since the 993's came out. I used to get the 992's and Asic Gel Kayano's before that. This will be the only shoe I get until they discontinue the model. If you wore 992's or Gel Kayano's (before Asics ruined them around 2005) then you'll love these.

Comfortable Sneakers

New Balance Men's 900 series running shoe are the most comfortable sneakers I have ever worn. Most important, it is available in a variety of widths, because unlike what most sneaker manufacturers think, no foot is alike. It has good arch support. Provides painless walking (which is what I use it most for) and running. I was wearing the 992 prior to buying the 993. I don't see much difference other that the sole and heel have a different design. The 993 provides the same comfort I had with the 992. If you are not upgrading from a 992, before you buy online, make sure you try the sneaker on for size at a local store. I especially like that it is made in the USA (with some imported materials).

Best pair of shoes I've ever owned

I always buy flat bottom shoes for comfort, but when I started my new job My feet were killing me at the end of the day. I spent hours looking at shoes and always got pointed back to these as the shoes I should buy. I was reluctant at first because I've never spent more than $40 on a pair of shoes and I considered that my expensive pair.
Now that I own these I wear them almost all the time. I hate wearing shoes overall but these feel so comfortable even after I'm done working I hardly mind. In four months I've put a lot of miles on these shoes and they are still holding together pretty well except some of the bottom peeled back but was fixed with a bit of super glue.
A must buy if you need a pair of shoes that can keep up with you.

GREAT LOOKING SHOES PROBABLY AS GOOD AS 992 THAT I HAD BUT SENT THE WRONG SIZE HAD TO RETURN NO RIGHT SIZE FOR EXCHANGE .

Great cushioning + support, but try on the narrow sizes

This is a great moderate stability and cushioning shoe. I weigh about 205, so I need a substantial shoe to cushion the blows, but I only mildly pronate so I need a shoe with moderate stability but not too much (I hate shoes with heavy stability posts that jam into my arch, I'm talking to you Asciscs Kayano and Brooks Adrenaline!!!). The MR 993 fits the bill and I would recommend it, particularly to the larger runners out there. The support is firm but not stifling, the arches are medium height and cushioning heavy.
That being said, the shoe runs wide, particularly in the size 14/15 range. Whereas I find myself wearing other shoes in size 15D or 15B, on the NB 993 I wear a 15 2A (that's double narrow). Give the narrow sizes a shot.
